A regular public speaker and thought leader on data centre technical issues as well as sitting on multiple technical and advisory boards. Mark is involved in the development of International Data Centre Standards and is the Editor and Committee Chair of the European Commission Code of Conduct on data centre energy efficiency since 2013.

Michelle has managed and chaired BSRIA's Soft Landings Network for over 7 years and has delivered sustainability-related presentations in many national and international events and conferences including the COP26- Glasgow.

Giuseppe has over 35 years’ experience in the Building Technical Services and Integrated FM sector and a strong multi discipline engineering background. Giuseppe is passionate about delivering Quality from both an engineering and operational perspective. He also sits on the BESA Service and Facilities Group which Governs the SFG20 Maintenance Standards and has international multi-sector experience with corporate clients, in complex and demanding environments, spanning across Data Centres, Commercial Banking, Healthcare, Central Government, Justice sector, Education, Commercial Buildings, Hotels and the Leisure Industry. Giuseppe has recently completed studies for IT in Architecture, Engineering & Construction aimed at Smart Building Technology and has extensive knowledge and experience across all disciplines in Building Services, specialising in ensuring that a compliant, efficient and cost-effective delivery of services is achieved. His involvement in the Building Engineering Services Association is aimed at promoting this principle and demonstrating that profitability can be achieved without sacrificing Quality. Giuseppe is currently open to new opportunities whilst conducting academic and professional consulting.

Julius has extensive experience in managing technical energy reduction projects, having a track record of delivering against and exceeding ambitious carbon emissions targets and has developed energy strategies for a number of our key customers. Julius oversees the Energy Intelligence team which provides energy software development, key data acquisition, energy and digital consultancy and energy bureau services for our clients.

Following an Technician Apprenticeship with Haden Young from School, a period of Self Employment as a Draughtsman and time with Consultants Chapman Bathurst, I came back to the world of Contracting applying my experiences with a small number of companies before joining Delron Services Ltd (DSL) of Maidstone in 2009 who supported the nomination and election as President of the HVCA (now BESA) for the period 2010/11, following this I was promoted to Operations Director for DSL in 2013, and via Arnold James (St Albans) Ltd as Contracts Director, Maybourne & Russell Ltd, MAZE Engineering Ltd of Clerkenwell as Senior Project Manager I joined Vinci Facilities as an MEP Project Manager with their Building Solutions South Division.

As founder of Native-Hue energy management and head of net zero and compliance for Noveus Energy, John Field has promoted and advised on energy and environmental improvement initiatives for organisations in the commercial, education, hospitality industrial sectors. He is a past president of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers CIBSE, also currently chair of CIBSE Certification Ltd and past chair of the Energy Services Group of the Energy Systems Trade Association ESTA. He has set up and managed Climate Change Agreements in the Data Centre sector and participation in the EU and UK Emissions Trading Schemes.

Tom has previously led product development and performance verification testing for HVAC products and systems in the BSRIA test laboratories. Systems testing included laboratory-based physical mock-ups and live buildings system testing focused on measuring indoor environmental quality and ventilation rates.

Tom has extensive knowledge and experience testing  HVAC&R products and systems in accordance with internationally recognised standards.  He has managed many projects of differing size for key manufacturers, international organisations, and Government departments.

Additionally, he has led the development and publication of BSRIA technical standards and contributed to partnerships with key industry stakeholders.

In 2017 Keith retired from the position of Industry Stakeholder Manager at Ofgem where he worked in the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (DRHI) team. During his time at Ofgem Keith built strong relationships with a wide range of manufacturers, installers, certification bodies, the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and leading trade associations. Before this Keith spent five years working for the Carbon Trust helping major organisations develop strategies to reduce their carbon emissions, become more energy efficient and lower their energy costs. Prior to his career in energy and the environment, Keith spent over 25 years working for several leading US computer manufacturers working his way up to Global Account Director responsible for major accounts in the fields of logistics, telecommunications and construction.

Tassos supports several key public and private stakeholders with achieving high energy efficiency standards on construction projects, developing and meeting net zero objectives, producing robust sustainability strategies and frameworks as well as identifying key opportunities and challenges associated with their strategic decisions for both new and existing assets.

His work includes amongst other developing central government policy impact analysis and evidence bases (Part L, Future Homes Standard, Modern Methods of Construction and other), informing local authorities sustainability requirements and plans (S106, SPD, minimum requirements, renewable energy generation and capacity statements) as well as working on performance metrics and technical details.

As Chief Executive of the Sustainable Energy Association (SEA), Jade engages with the development of a range of energy efficiency policies and is dedicated to the decarbonisation of homes and buildings.

She joined the SEA with a wealth of experience within a policy and regulatory affairs capacity after working with the Government, Parliament, and industry at the heart of some of the biggest challenges facing the sustainable energy and construction sectors.

Having experienced the good and bad of political interventions over the past decade whilst the climate emergency has worsened, Jade recognises just how important it is to bring industry and policymakers together to design effective policy. Her efforts in engaging with policymakers has been dedicated to driving improvement in the performance of buildings to enhance the wellbeing of occupants and minimise the long-term impact of our built environment on the planet.

Paul is an experienced programme and project manager, with over 25 years’ experience in the low carbon arena. He currently leads the £20m Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator on behalf of BEIS which is stimulating the development and demonstration of innovative technologies in UK industry. He is also the project manager for the learning and dissemination stream of BEIS £60m Heat Pump Ready programme, which is supporting the development and demonstration of technologies, tools and solutions for optimised deployment of heat pumps.

Paul is an expert in energy efficient products and led the technical and market research programme for the Energy Technology List for five years, advising UK Government on the criteria for the 60 technologies supported by the scheme.

Paul previously managed the creation of the Carbon Trust’s extensive library of energy efficiency and carbon reduction publications and advice. His work has ranged from best practice advice to energy efficiency policy, with organisations ranging from SMEs to energy intensive industry and Governments.

  • Senior Colman (formerly Barber Colman), 1989 - 1996: Started as Internal Project Support Engineer; left as External Sales Engineer
    • Gained experience in all forms of air movement and control, including specialist areas such as operating theatres, clean rooms, lecture halls, theatres and large sports / entertainment venues.
    • Worked on air various air distribution systems such as dual duct, “Moduline”, fan assisted variable air volume (FATVAV) and induction VAV.
    • Spent two years on secondment to the Senior Colman agent for Dubai and Oman, where experience was also gained working with Woods fans, including tunnel ventilation and fire / smoke control, and designing, selecting and manufacturing attenuators.
    • Following a distribution agreement between Senior Colman and chilled ceiling manufacturer BarCol Air AG of Switzerland, left Senior Colman to help establish BarCol’s fledgling UK operation.
  • BarCol Air AG / REDEC UK Limited, 1996 – 1998: UK Sales Manager
    • Helped establish a UK manufacturing base for the REDEC chilled ceiling system.
    • Worked on some of the first major chilled ceiling projects in the UK.
    • Helped to create a working partnership between REDEC UK and Klima-Therm, to enable each company to offer packages of REDEC UK chilled ceilings and Klima-Therm “COSY” chilled beams.

Venessa holds a BSc in Computer Science, a Post Grad Diploma in Business Administration, as well as an MBA from Essex University, where she specialised in agile IT architectures for maximum business value. She has successfully led strategy development and implementation programmes in multiple international organisations. Venessa is a member of the IET (MIET), the BCS (MBCS) and is also on the Board of Advisors for the Data Centre Alliance.

Tim joined Clade to lead the strategic move in to low carbon heat, he has 13 years of experience in technology and business leadership in low carbon energy and climate change. He has built and lead high performance teams who have developed and deployed technology in solar, biomass, heat pumps, combined heat and power. Additionally Tim has worked to deliver industry standards that help define the sector as well as representing the industry voice and Government and EU levels. Recently Tim has been working with cutting edge AI and blockchain technologies to quantify climate risk, transform industrial processes and drive business performance. Outside of the corporate world Tim is an environmental entrepreneur, investing in an under-planted agriculture project as a biodiversity and social venture.

She is currently leading on business change initiatives for Skanska, supporting the mechanical and electrical division, a key specialist business within the organisation. A strategic and tactical individual, Becki is a member of the Management team, responsible for supporting the business by driving change and quality initiatives across both project and support office teams.  Becki is a passionate leader regarding health, safety and wellbeing and sits on the Health, Safety and Wellbeing leadership team.  She also won Skanska UK’s ‘Individual Contribution Award’. Over the past 10 years at Ecuity, Ilias has contributed through his work significant policy change that has had long lasting effect on markets. Prior to Ecuity, Ilias worked as a business consultant for Cemex, as a policy advisor for the European Commission Delegation to the US, and as energy policy consultant for the Bellona Foundation and The Centre in Brussels.. Alongside his native Greek, Ilias also speaks English, Spanish and German.

Jonathan Winston is a Consultant with the Carbon Trust, primarily working in the Low Carbon Workplace team, a low-carbon property development partnership between the Carbon Trust, asset manager Columbia Threadneedle and developer Stanhope. As a key adviser to the partnership, he is integral to the delivery of buildings that are refurbished to a high standard of energy efficiency and sustainable performance, ensuring they meet the requirements of the property portfolio net zero carbon strategy. Previously, Jonathan developed large-scale public sector energy efficiency projects at Schneider Electric. He holds a MEng in Civil and Architectural Engineering from the University of Bath
